Transense Technology New iTrack Contract Win with BHP in Australia

Transense Technologies plc (LON:TRT), the AIM quoted company focused on patent-protected sensor systems and supporting technology, has today announced that Translogik, its trading division providing tyre management solutions, has won a further contract through its Australian distributor, Brownfield Engineering and Maintenance PTY LTD (“Brownfield”) to supply 26 iTrack II mining tyre monitoring systems for large haul trucks at the BHP Billiton Mitsui Coal South Walker Creek Mine (“SWC”).

These systems are to be supplied on a rental and service basis via Brownfield. This method allows mining companies to benefit from the productivity gains and overhead savings provided by using the system without any of the associated capital cost, while providing Translogik with a recurring revenue stream.

Troy Martin of SWC said: “We initially chose iTrack after an extensive evaluation followed by a five month trial period. During the evaluation, we were very impressed with the reliability and performance of the TPMS System and the In-Tyre Sensors. With iTrack II, Translogik and Brownfield have developed a best in class system that adds significant benefits through its real time monitoring and reports generated to monitor and control trucks at our operation. iTrack II will further improve our productivity by maximising haul truck work rates as well as being a great addition to our safety initiatives at South Walker Creek Mine.”

Darryl Crowder, CEO of Brownfield, said: “It’s exciting to have the opportunity to show BHP what the iTrack II system has to offer. We have been working with SWC now for the past six months and the iTrack system has not missed a beat. It’s a real testament to what can be achieved when everyone works together. We are very pleased to be working with BHP along with other global miners such as Glencore.”

Graham Storey, CEO of Transense, said: “It’s very gratifying to add another BHP mine to the growing list of iTrack users. By installing iTrack, SWC are minimising truck downtime and increasing average speeds, significantly improving overall truck productivity.”
