Innovative phone maker Sirin Labs have announced the launch of what it is calling “the world’s first blockchain smartphone” – and it has the backing of arguably the world’s most famous footballer.
Barcelona star Lionel Messi will be involved in the launch of the Finney phone in his role as brand ambassador for the Israeli startup, having reportedly seen “the power” blockchain technology can bring to the smartphone space.
Blue Star Capital (LON:BLU) is an investing company with a focus on new technologies. Blue Star’s investments include a 31.1% holding in SatoshiPay, a nanopayment software and blockchain company; a 2% shareholding in Disruptive Tech Limited, an investing company with five investments; and a 1% investment in Sthaler, an early stage identity and payments technology business which enables a consumer to identify themselves and pay using just their finger at retail points of sale.
