Revealed: Britain’s best used cars

The second-hand car market is booming in the UK. In 2017, more than eight million used vehicles changed hands, compared to 2.5 million new car registrations. Attractive car finance deals are fuelling new car sales, but the squeeze on household budgets and economic uncertainty means that millions of buyers are looking for good used cars.

Finding the right second-hand car can be a daunting proposition, which is why awards from reputable sources such as What Car? magazine are really helpful.

The What Car? Used Car of the Year Awards 2019 consists of 15 categories divided into price points to better reflect the variety of cars available on the used car market. Scroll down to the table below and you can see the winners for each category, plus the runners-up.
