On today of all days, I was hoping to get away with not writing about Brexit. I am going to try not to comment on what is probably the biggest economic, social and political event ever to hit this country and certainly I will not go anywhere near the last two of those points. That said, it’s worth considering if any asset classes have much to offer and, arguably more importantly, what there is of interest within those asset classes.
We are entering, quite literally, an unprecedented and impossible-to-forecast phase for this country’s economy, which may have profound ramifications for the UK corporate sector. For now, it’s important to focus on themes, sectors and companies that have specific appeal and which should be able to thrive in unpredictable economic and market conditions.
