Nanoco wins Best IR award at the IR Magazine Awards

We are delighted that our clients Nanoco Group and Petra Diamonds swept the board at the recent IR Magazine Awards – Small Cap Europe, winning both their respective categories for “Best IR”.

Nanoco Group, a UK-based nanotechnology firm which specialises in heavy metal-free quantum dots and semiconductor nanoparticles used in high-resolution TV displays, lighting, solar energy and bio-imaging, won the best IR by a small cap company (under €250m).

Petra Diamonds, a London-headquartered diamond producer with operations in South Africa, took home the award for best IR by a small cap company (€250m–€500m). The firm operates four mines in South Africa and one in Tanzania, and has exploration projects in Botswana, it is the world’s second-largest diamond producer by value.

The focus of Nanoco Group’s entry was its annual report, which communicates the enormous potential and scale of Nanoco’s offering and demonstrates what sets it apart from its competitors, creating “a clear and interesting investment proposition”. Design Portfolio “creatively and successfully set out the strengths of the business” through an evolved business model, developed strategy articulation and a refreshed design. Most importantly, the report demonstrates the commercial progress the company is making and its potential for future growth, conveying Nanoco’s commitment to its stakeholders and sustainability whilst being at the cutting edge of technology.

David Blain, Finance Director at Nanoco said:

“We are very pleased with this award – it’s great to be recognised for all the work that goes into our corporate communications. We feel we’ve got across our message clearly and met all the objectives we set out to achieve. Thanks to all at Design Portfolio for their efforts.”
