How ZOO Digital Is Making the Most of Media Localization’s Prime Time

ZOO Digital CEO Stuart Green addressed participants at SlatorCon London in May 2018, sharing his insight from “Inside Media Localization” and unpacking the key themes of market and company growth, localization preferences per geography, the use of cloud-based platforms, and the state of neural machine translation within the media localization industry.

A Growth Company In A Growth Industry

ZOO Digital saw a 10x rise in its share price in 2017, benefiting from a 70% bump in year-on-year revenue. The company rebounded strongly from 2015, a loss-making year when ZOO posted decline in EBITDA of USD 0.7m. Responding to Florian Faes’s panel question on how it feels for a CEO to lead a company through such a time of growth, Green said “you have fun. You just enjoy it.”

Green told of how ZOO was positioned to make the most of “prime time in our sector.” The CEO said that at a certain point “a whole host of things just suddenly fell into place, and our technology was in the right place at the right time.”
