CentralNic plc, (AIM:CNIC), the internet platform business which derives revenues from the global sale of domain names, has said that it is the first “registry backend” (ie. Wholesaler) to achieve sales of two million new TLD domain names, according to the domain industry statistics website www.ntldstats.com
As at 0700hrs on Tuesday 10(th) November, CentralNic is ranked in the top position, with 2,002,507 domains registered using CentralNic’s registry platform, representing 21.21% of all domains registered globally using new TLDs. See attached screenshot No.1.
CentralNic also has 20% market share of the top twenty new gTLD list, with four of its exclusive client TLDs among the top 20 (out of 768 launched to date) – namely: .website, .online, .space and the world’s leading new TLD, .xyz, the only credible challenger to date to .com. See attached screenshot No.2.
.xyz has almost twice the registrations of any other new gTLD, and it is sold through more retailers than any other TLD, via CentralNic’s integrated network of domain name retailer partners. .xyz also supports more active websites than any other TLD and is the only new Top-Level Domain used by Google (for the official website of their new holding company, Alphabet: http://abc.xyz) and by Facebook (when Mark Zuckerberg posted his September town hall meeting on http://stream.hacktv.xyz/qandawithmark-ext).
CentralNic’s CEO Ben Crawford commented “For CentralNic as a London-based AIM listed company to achieve the number one position globally in new TLDs, and to be the first to cross the two million mark, ahead of multi-billion dollar enterprises on NASDAQ, the NYSE, and the Tokyo Stock Exchange, is another important milestone in executing our plan to reach the scale of those other inspirational corporations. And there is much more to come.”
CentralNic has already signed contracts to be the exclusive distributor of another eight new Top-Level Domains launching in 2016 as announced at the Half Year Results on 15 September 2015.
