Best new cars for 2020 and beyond

Electric cars are already commonplace now, but in future years manufacturers will up the ante in terms of EV production and also the range of EVs available to buy. With increasingly tighter emissions tests and cities such as London planning on banning all petrol and diesel-powered vehicles, car firms will be ditching the internal combustion engine in favour of electrification and that is reflected in the list of the best new cars for 2020 and beyond.

Brands like Mercedes and BMW will be in the swing of their electric revolution with cars like the EQA and i4 expected to hit showrooms in 2020. At the other end of the scale will be SUVs with their popularity continuing to soar. Alfa Romeo is among those planning on launching new SUVs in 2020 to compete in the already highly competitive market.
