Wey Education Plc (LONWEY) operates an online independent secondary school. Yesterday it climbed as it reported a rise in student numbers in the year and an uptick in turnover as a result.
Wey said a new IT system would enable the firm to further increase numbers.
Following the update Paul and Jacqueline Daniell, principal of the online InterHigh and director of the firm respectively, snapped up 2.6million shares, spending a total of £101,654 and taking their total combined stake in the business to 13.3 per cent.
Shares surged 10 per cent, or 0.38p to 4.12p.
