“Significant partnership for Ukraine and Eastern Europe” Andrea Stecconi CEO of Defenx PLC

Andrea Stecconi, CEO of Defenx PLC LON:DFX, commented: “We are delighted to announce this significant partnership and believe it should increase our sales traction in the Ukraine and Eastern Europe next year and thereafter.  The subject of protecting children from potential predators and danger is understandably an extremely emotive one and we are delighted that our software addresses this need at an affordable price.”

Defenx PLC (AIM:DFX), the mobile security software solutions company, has told DirecotsTalk that it has secured a partnership agreement with a European software developer to distribute its parental control software suite in Ukraine and across Eastern Europe and the CIS. Defenx Parental Control, the first solution developed with the Company’s Software Development Kit (SDK), has already secured a 75,000 unit pre-order.

Defenx Parental Control protects under-age smartphone and tablet users from inappropriate content and enables parents to manage their children’s online activity.  It enables parents to remotely control when and how their child’s device is used, for example, by limiting access and data usage to defined times and blocking use of the camera.  Parents can also view call and messaging history, photos and be alerted when their child arrives or leaves specific locations.  In addition, the App includes a panic function, which can be triggered by a Bluetooth connected button, to alert the designated parent or guardian by email, SMS and even via a call centre thereby turning the smartphone into a tool to safely increase their child’s independence.

Based in Kiev, the distribution partner has an established network of long-term partnerships with telephone carriers and electronics retailers in Ukraine, Russia and neighbouring countries including Georgia and Azerbaijan.  It also acts as the web solution provider for Doctor Eugene Komarovskiy (www.komarovskiy.net), a pediatrician with a strong reputation in Russian speaking countries who has published books dedicated to the wellbeing of children aged 0-14 and has a significant social media following. Dr Komarovskiy is supporting the product through his web and TV channels. In addition, electronic retailers in the Ukraine have already expressed a strong interest in the product.

The Company will sell both its own branded Defenx Parental Control, mainly to retailers, and a white-label version through Dr Komarovskiy.  The product launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2017 in Ukraine and will then be rolled out across Eastern Europe and other CIS countries. It is anticipated that further partnerships will be entered into to distribute Defenx Parental Control in other territories during 2017.
